New! APM Planner 1.0

Over the past couple of weeks I have been busy reworking my original APM Mission Planner. Together with my partner/designer Samantha Nelson we have focused on improving the APM Planner’s interface, ideally resulting in a more intuitive user experience.   

Below are a couple screenshots of the new APM Planner!

    Could you add live video input as the background for the main gauge. I will upload a picture of what I am thinking about.

    Kudos! Great looking Interface, Hope it doesn't need to be tethered to internet for Google Maps.

    Maybe we can add a localization feature in the future, because many fans in China and other countries are not familiar with English.

    In my computer (Windows 7 pro, Simple Chinese), the font "Century Gothic" does not support the Regular style, thus the program just crashes. I changed it into the Bold style. It works for me, but I still worry it will crash again in other computers where the font does not exist. The default font in the Simple Chinese Windows is Simsun. It is a monospaced font, and wider than Tohama in English Windows, so it can not be draw in a line in some button. A snapshot in my computer is attached.

    André - please make sure you have the latest/zipfile release

    @ Russell if you want a map for the flying field just pre cache it, just pan around zoomed all the way in at your airfield. Everything that the planer download while it has internet is saved, for later offline use.

    André Silva, if you know how to build the project using Visual Studio, then you can download the modified source code from the SVN and build it yourself. Otherwise, I suggest you to wait for the next release version.

    It would be nice if a video window can be added. A floating form is OK if it can not be embedded in the main window.

    A font in the splash is not correct, I have fixed it.
    Some buttons do not display correctly in my computer. They overlap with some other widgets, and some long captions display in two rows. Please check the UI design carefully.
