New autopilot system from Art-Tech

Art-tech, a Chinese maker of very cheap RC aircraft, has launched a UAV division and has some new products that could be interesting.

Below are the specs of the fixed wing autopilot shown above. No pricing or availability is given (I've emailed asking for more info) and the website is a terrible broken mess of missing pages and non-working sections, so I assume the product is not out yet. My own experience with Art-Tech is that its products are pretty low quality, but perhaps this new division is aiming higher. We'll see...

Specs:

26.gifIntegrate GPS receiver, three-axis MEMS gyro, three-axis accelerometers, pressure altimeter, inertial strapdown attitude algorithm

26.gifAdopt UBLOX 5th generation GPS receiver, 4Hz output, 35 seconds fast positioning time and accuracy of 2.5 meters CEP

26.gif50HZ inner attitude control, 4HZ outer navigation control. high-precision attitude through to use 32 ARM7microprocessors

26.gifThree Modes Options:

Manual remote control, /Auto balance remote control /Automatic navigation control.

26.gifTwo modes for Ground Control Station:

Flight Course navigation mode / Mouse pointing flight Real-time Control mode.

26.gifWaypoints setting through Ground Control Station

26.gifAuto-return protection after communication interruption

26.gifDistance Automatic photography

26.gifThe ground station software contains electronic map that can change the route and tasks online,real-time semi-autonomous remote control, and can real-time record flight data and play back off-line.

26.gifContains the autopilot power supply voltage monitoring, electric aircraft power voltage monitoring, GPS accuracy of detection and autopilot temperature detection.

Just to clear things up about Art-Tech and FeiyuTech.

Art Tech are not the same company as FeiyuTech Guilin Feiyu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

Art Tech buys many of there products from FeiyuTech but they are not the same company.

Yes more will come in this matter!
  • Hooks, You are beyond right there! I found out the hard way. Just curious was all. Looks like a good bird that many like. It will be neat to see your RTF UAS.

Chris M, No no I'm not the designer of Skywalker. I'm only selling the plane. I have a few contacts to the manufacture so I can try and ask around where and how. But remember it's China so if you are having a new design under your arm I'm not sure you want to go this way.
  • I am sure they are not the same. Very few if any designs from Art-Tech are original to the company. This includes any of their accessories. I seen it first hand. They even took a 64mm EDF impeller I designed for the Mako and now use it for almost all their EDF birds. They even scraped off a few thousands off the plastic to save a penny over 10 units. This caused them to shatter over 45k.... Anyhow. Hooks are you the original designer of the SkyWalker? Where are you getting your high pressure molding done?

It's news to me that Art-tech is the same company as FeiyuTech.

FeiyuTech only makes Autopilots for Fixed wings not heli as Art-Tech does.
Does anyone have 100% info that these companies are the same.
  • No problem guys. Now back to the infamous Artech autopilot........=)

I was going to review the new FY-20 IMU on my SkyWalker UAV but, not after learning this... ( I didn't know it was made by Art-Tech). Chris 9 months is a long time to be stuck... Sorry about all this mess. Glad you posted this!

Completely understandable Chris.M and no you are not crying. Just educating us diyfolks. Sorry I didn't know this earlier. I don't know much about business part of this but having seen my hard worked tenders & RFQs lost to some one else who simply stole the whole document and won the contract without having to spend a dime on R & D , I understand how you feel. I felt betrayed and bitter even now and never submitted one more tender to same client again( it was the client who sold me to the competitor). I am sure others here agree and sympathize support you too. I for one support your feelings on this. I just don't like when this truly Global community gets divided by emotions based on region or religion or similar non tech stuff. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
  • Got to make fun of myself! Sounds like a big baby crying! awwww pooooo........ I apologize if this bothered anybody. I am not mad nor bitter. You live and learn. I just figured while we were talking about it I would let it be known.....
