@paul, Ofcourse I have, and neither of them can do pitch stabilization. Which some say that you don't need it, but I know that the underbody gimbal on my mikrokopter, the pitch and roll stabilization makes a world of difference, also carrying the weight directly under the CoG is much better.

Back to my point that the only point I can mark down the scarab frame on is the lack of ability to mount a nice gimbal.

@paul, I like the frame, except the limited camera gimbal options, the only thing I would like to see on the scarab frame is a under body camera gimbal option, or at least a higher landing gear option with adapter for other camera gimbals. I am in Perth.

@davey, just rolling shutter reduction. The copter is a stock Scarab Stealth Reconn ARF kit. With default PIDs, and 0.3 throttle attenuation. It's a very small quad, I think only 320mm diameter, but it handles 15kt wind fine. It is very agile as shown in the video, but also easy to hover even without GPS. The altitude hold sucks, and the level mode aka stabiles mode sucks. But to its credit it hovers very nicely in acro mode. I find that on high rpm I get vibration, I think it's because the 775kv motors driving the 8x4 props are the same ones driving the 10x4.5 props on much larger copters. I am going to try putting 8x4 tri blades to see if the extra load will reduce high rpm vibration.
  • Hai,

Nice video!can you provide details on the copter itself? Did this video have any post production?
  • Hai, nice flight. Went through your others stealth vids too. So far are you happy with frame build quality and tuning? btw you based where in Australia? Im an Aussie too.
