Launch from Route 66 Casino near Albuquerque.

Almost took my tongue with it !

Highest altitude was 65000 ft.

Maximum speed 45 Mph

PX4IO with 430 Mhz telemetry worked GREAT. Used 20 element 440 beam on ground and 3 element on balloon. Saw telemetry all the way.

APM 2.0 worked good also. Only the top camera didn't work. GoPro was fantastic. Cheep

down pointing gumstick camera recorded all the way up/down. Both APRS units worked good.

Recovered on Indian reservation 40 miles from launch.

Only got to 65000 ft because my knot at the balloon slipped! I told the crew I shouldn't tie the knot!

Video to be uploaded soon.....

I was really surprised at receiving telemetry all the way up and down. Only 100 mw on 3DR radio....BUT...20 element beam on ground and 3 element beam on package on balloon. Signal never dropped below 80 on MP rssi.

Please post pictures of the launch and craft if you have them. Curious how you did this.

@monroe..

The 3 element yagi was strapped to the package pointing straight down. The 20 ele yagi on the ground was pointed up at the balloon.

On other flights, the telemetry pooped out at less than 1000 feet.

With this setup, I got telemetry all the way up/down on 430 Mhz.

I WAS going to zip tie the neck but in the excitement.....I fergot !!!
