RC LANC Controller for Sony / Canon / Panasonic Video Cameras

Hi Everyone,

I'm working over some LANC controllers since few months. LANC is the camera control protocol by Sony and most of  Sony, Canon and Panasonic cameras using this protocol to control the camera features by a cable remote.
I'm designing LANC RF links and other LANC products for video production market.

My new product is a RC LANC controller over servo lines and it is currently in production.
It is supporting Zoom(In-Out) and Rec(start-stop) functions.

Please share your idea about this product. It is useful or not? Need extra features? for drones?

I have customers for my aerial photography telescopic masts asking for something like that all the time.

It would be a nice solution for those who want to control the camera, without having a 40ft or 60ft cable.

Please add me to your contact list to recevie updates when the product is ready. Can you send me pricing information?

This is great. Very good.

Some ideas, control also the iris and the focus

that will be gold.

Hi Melih, I also did some tests with it some months ago. Its an awesome resource. However how did you solve the lack of cables which has AV signal and the serial link at same time? All those proprietary connectors on the newest cameras are kinda DIY killers. :(

Some weeks ago I've made a cable hacking by using HTC USB 11 pins and a mini USB connector shell. It's really faulty... sometimes it works sometimes not, just because of some small tilting. My old Sony camera has the old-style stereo jack as the LANC port. That was easy. But the newest ones are not cool. Cannon has a type, Sony has two or three ones... It's a mega mess.

You can follow our Facebook page for product status and details. Http://www.facebook.com/Flytron

Yes you right about that. We can control iris and focus but this commands not common and not supporting by all models. At first we must test them with different models.

You are %100 right. New sony D shape lanc is the worst and expensive socket design and killing me. I guess this is why professional Lamc controller producers only supporting Panasonic cameras.

Sorry Smaragdos but LANC is the protocol for video cameras. Not for photo cameras and others. Check your camera features for LANC compability.

PS. I have another project for canon DsLR cameras, but you must wait for 2 months for it ;)

Bro, the caffee is the best offer for me, but it is not on my hands. We are building a new company and buying machines etc. Than i will order the components and wait for delivery. I guess it takes 2 months.

PS: Basically you can use our current camera photo shutters or video on/of shutter for your DSLR machines.
This is video start7stop for canon DSLRs: http://www.flytron.com/rc-shutters/192-canon-ir-video-start-stop.html
And photo shutter for Canon DSLRs: http://www.flytron.com/camera-transmitter-shutter/164-canon-ir-shut...
For other models, check this page: http://www.flytron.com/19-rc-shutters

Our new device a little bit different and supporting focus and iris controls. But this is not important for aerial videography.
