Risk based autonomous planning in PX4 Sim

This is an example of risk based planning for a flight across a city in the PX4 SITL. The drone avoids flying too close to buildings or through confined spaces where it might loose GPS reception. PX4's Vilhjálmur Vilhjálmsson is working on bringing this to outdoor flights this summer.

  • Looks great. Can I suggest the name as PIX-CRAFT ;-)

  • This is really useful, especially if it could have an interactive interface for pre-flight check of the planned route. If elevation data and/or 3D city map is given, with some effort, this algorithm should also be able to find safe(r) landing areas for emergency landing or eventually package delivery.
