Announcing our new partnership with RPFlightSystem, Inc.  I am the new CTO for RPFlightSystems, Inc and I am bringing my work with GaAS solar cells from Alta Devices to provide a production solar plane under 5kg with the Vigilant UAS.

    Are you also interested in using thermalling to extend endurance? I have successfully implemented a thermalling flight mode in Arduplane and used it to extend endurance on a glider platform. See my posts with flight data here http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/ardusoar-cross-country-x-plane-... . I'd be interested in getting involved in your project.

    Sounds awesome, what is the price range going to be? Hopefully us DIYers aren't expected to pay 10k for a foam fuselage covered in solar panels...
