  • I started a build thread at rcgroups.com where I am making comments about certain things as I go along and adding pictures. I hope you all will join me there. I'll still be around here, but rcgroups is going to be my primary spot for reporting on my build.
  • I got mine 2 days ago and have been slowly building it. I can agree with that. The fuse seems like the correct length, but its proportions seem exaggerated. And the parts the connect the wings on seem poorly thought out. But so far I think it will make a great UAV.
  • I just got my MQ-9 from NitroPlanes today and it is awesome. I can't wait to start gathering all of the UAV stuff so I can begin my venture.

I do have to agree with some of you though, the proportions could be better. The fuse and wing are not of the same scale. And some of the materials are heavier than I would like, so I may replace so of the parts. I may ultimately use the profiles form this one to build a slightly larger version from scratch.
  • We all know that RC planes ar not toys...
  • the problem is jurien that if the "government and security agencies" are screening customers and happen to type your name into the internet the comment above, albeit a joke on your side, won't go down well with them.

Trust me things not to say and that could be one of them.
  • Hello Morli,

No this isn't about security to prevent credit card fraud.
If you had to email your ID and two days later you are been tolded that your order has been cancelled, the security reason is only that NitroPlanes lets screen there international customers by officials or agencies from the government. But NitroPlanes will not admit that I gues.

  • Hello Chris,

Yes I had to sent a copy of my credit card too, but I scrached out all numbers except the last four digits (that's what Nitroplanes asked my to do).
It's nonsence to ask for my ID and then tell me the kit is "oversized for international shipment".
To only reason is that they (and the agencies and the government) think every European is a (potentional) terrorist.

    best regards

@Chris, yes its defo a plane to be flown if you know what I mean, every good landing comes off a good approach, needs a bigger flying field and can't just be chucked in a car and operated from a rough field.

@Juriean, frustrating but perhaps you should be telling Nitroplanes. Not sure why you sent ID along with your CC details, I would change your CC if I were you.
  • I am living in Europe...
