  • Hello Thomas!

This post is just update for my June post, and I put a link in the header. I just want to say about our progress and additional experiments we conducted.

You are right about drone-related usage, it's my fail not to highlight it in this post. Let me fix my mistake.

Here's a brief description of StereoPi usage in our projects:

    • Using WiFi broadcast we have 3D video on the ground
    • Using long-range wifi (Ubiquiti) we're also have 3D on the ground
    • We use 1 Pi camera for pilot and HDMI-capture as second camera for video to operator, streaming two independent videos to the ground
    • WIth back-to-back setup we have front view and rear view from our RC models (Crawler and Traxxas)
    • In both WiFibroadcast and Ubiquiti WiFi we have "bridge" for telemetry from APM to QGroundControl or MissionPlanner, connecting APM to UART.
    • In some our projects we use StereoPi as a main computer without APM (drift RC models). In this case we use Raspberry Pi PWM for control (driving over Internet, with our desktop application)
    • We have a project with DJI cams and links hack (cosmostreamer), and now trying to connect StereoPi to Inspire brain so it will accept it as his own camera. If it will be succesfull, we obtain all we have now with WiFibroadcast and long-range WiFi but with original DJI video and data link.

And thank you for your comment - it is really useful for me!
