Juan Figueroa wrote to update us on his son's science project using Lidar with drones. Congrats Carlos!
While he had to simplify his project and used an Arduino based obstacle avoiding rover project as a learning phase before trying to use a drone, he earned 1st place in both his school's and district competitions.
He advanced to a regional competition and although he didn't place there, he is still very content with his project. We thought we would pass this picture along... and a sincere thank you for inspiring him. He still cites this conversation as a reason why he chose to pursue this project!Sincerely

Awesome! Unfortunately when you go to the DIYD post linked in the article it demonstrates a major problem on this forum... a lot of perfectly reasonable queries go completely unanswered! 'Looks like they reached out to the community, but did they even get a single response to help them with their project? Maybe the wrong post was linked to?
