A drone from the Swiss army crashed on tuesday morning. Interesting to see how quick the army communicates with a photograph of the incident. At least it 'landed' on the airstrip.
The drone is a swiss produced version of a IAF drone from mid 90's. As far as I know the color is a kind of covering film that can be taken off in case of military use. This drone is used for border surveillance and sometimes in larger sport events and has the actual color scheme for security reason. Note that the drone flies always with a Pilatus PC6 Porter as buddy for security. But not during the launch phase, so I guess the mission cut-off signal for parachute deployment came from the launch station. Ando NO! Swiss army knife has NO bottle opener and is NOT red. The older version was silver with poor functions and some dedicated stuff for rifle maintenance. The actual one is green and larger. All that nice red Swiss army knifes sold were never used in the Swiss army.
