Its been a while so lets try again. Had a hangout with Chris and we briefly spoke about the next T3 round. Chris will work on a top prize ;-)
The mission is simple, get airborne climb to 20m
Fly a cube with 50m sides, pausing for one minute at each corner, so your flight time cannot be anything less than 8 minutes..... Bonus points if you can stay longer at each corner....
The neatest cube KML wins.
If you can do this with a 3D aircraft I feel you would have a very strong chance of winning!
I will close the competition on April the 14th. I will be looking at where you are flying very closely. Please don't try this in public places or within 500m of any building / road.

I have a cube ready to post. The KML and on board video are ready. What information do you wan't?
What is the prize?
I am surprised that no other controllers have been entered. In the early days of T3, with aircraft many different APs would enter.
Six days to go folks....
Gary, I agree. I think we've got the basic flight stuff down. I did a bunch of manual stab flights with my 450 heli on the weekend, but that got kinda boring so I started hot-dogging it until I hit a light pole... I find it more fun to push my limits on what I can do in the auto modes, which was one of the main reasons I did this. To prove it to myself. (But I would graciously accept a prize! :D )
What is the price to unlock the waypoint functionality of ZeroUAV? Just curious.
And what's the situation with WK-M. It has some ability right, and at what price?
What happened to AeroQuad navigation?
How come no MK entries?
There are other pilots with autopilot that are ready to compete but what is the prize?
Well perhaps this round will push what can happen with controllers a little. The point of competitions really.
Flying a multi around bores me to tears. Lets get them working!
What about YS-XS or whatever it's called?
MK should do it I think? WK-M of course, does it have enough waypoints?
Of DJI Ace One for Helis at $11,000!
LOL
We've still got a couple weeks right? Still hoping to get a tradheli entry. Gonna be tight but my new big heli is almost ready...
Excellent work from everybody with the guts to give it a go. Still very surprised that no other AP has entered. T3 was never APM only. Once again though, well done!
Richard: Fantastic video! Tweeting...
Richard,
Great work! Nice to see the video.
Re Alt-Hold, I've heard that from one other person recently (although they were using an APM1). 2.9.1b has a wider acceptable range of accelerometer aliasing...it's 3m/s vs 1m/s in 2.9.1. This plus reducing the INAV_TC_Z from 7 to 5 will likely make it more reliable. There's a slight downside to having the TC at 5 which is that bad barometer behaviour can also appear. On my copter this means it does a little dip after flattening out after a highspeed forward flight. Most people probably won't notice the difference but if you do you can always increase the TC back up to 6 or 7.
