Do I understand that the FCC complaint was issued about the Orange transmitters by Spektrum presumably in defense of their exclusivity of their protocol, which ostensibly in itself has nothing at all to do with the FCC.
So it is really about one manufacturer calling out the dogs to suppress competition.
It will be interesting to watch how this escalates.
Right now, I dare say that in the toy and consumer classes, probably the vast majority of them have never contacted the FCC let alone made their equipment in compliance, to say nothing of the nifty 5 watt rigs.
Hobbyking has now got at least 3 US warehouses, and is doing considerable business here, it will be interesting to see if they just abandon the US market over this.
But this is probably just the beginning, much more saber rattling and regulation enforcing sure to come world wide.
A good bureaucracy just can't stand it when they can't run things.
