    You would be insane to pay a penny more than $160,000!

  • several thoughts gone through my mind :)

    in no particular order

    unlimited warranty

    they can breed

    they have laser beams

  • I'm curious what the C2 and payload range is.

    @R_Lefebvre

    Chances are that this is considered a single use item. An being so small is actually a benefit - quite harder to hit!

    @Chris

    "..as part of a £20m contract..."

    These type of contracts involve a bit more than you'd think.

  • What could be the flight endurance of this ?

    That story started back in March 2011, its gone from a requirement to into service in a year, here is the November 2011 announce

  • Or as they say in Afghanistan: "They have the watches, but we have the time."

  • I can see how it would cost that much to produce something with that functionality in that size.  It makes sense if your use-case requires something that small.

    However, my 450 heli is still fairly small, and has the same capability, for a much smaller price.  So I'd like to see the use-case justification.  Does it HAVE to be that small?  $200,000 is a high cost for something that could probably destroyed if somebody lobbed a handful of gravel at it.

  • They are really cute and I'm sure they have great specs, but at $200,000.00 each it looks like the US military isn't the only ones to pay too much for a toilet seat.

    I think I'll stick with my Blade or better yet Arducopter.

  • I think a group of us could come up with almost the same thing at a much cheaper price.
