  • For what it's worth, I have that exact setup (Xbee+rangevideo) and it works fine. I have used it on both electric and gasoline powered airframes with no issues.
  • @Ritchie;
    They are not working directly 900mhz there are minor diffrrences. i thought its oke. i was wrong ?
  • I think you've missed my point if you have 900MHz for telemetry and 900MHz for FPV on your receivers you'll get nothing. You can either use them alternately or get a different transmitter for the FPV stuff. That is all that you can do. Using both at the same time means both will be useless :(
  • Ritchie.. i'm not saying tha t9.6 is slow.. i'm saying that if your using APM, the xbees you chose will not work. the baud rate does not match up. please anyone correct me if im wrong.
  • @Ritchie ;
    hehe np you are totaly right. And about FPV; 900mhz is the best choose for my country i think. 5.8Ghz is for military use so i cant use it :) and there are lots of 1.3Ghz video transmitters here. maybe 5 years before 900mhz isnt the best choose (because of GSM900 its 1800/ 3g now) but now its :)
    Thanks.
  • Yes Im sorry to bring you the downside news but I hope by the time you finish building it the code will be complete and you can launch it with a glorious HD video which will bring most of us to tears of joy (baby UAV and all :D)

    Also your FPV and Telemetry are 900MHz. They will interfere. I'd suggest changing the FPV to maybe a 5.8GHz or a 1.3GHz set. 900MHz is better range than the other for the same power and as its more important to know you aren't crashing than seeing the crash its better to change to FPV frequency.
  • @ken_wood;
    same here i will simulate it at ground about 2 monts :)

    @Sgt Ric;
    I was thinking that maybe i can buy a RQ1 from nitro planes and try it with RC setup

    @Ritchie;
    Thanks for advice. everyone saying that. i really must buy a cheaper model :)

    @Joel;
    9.6kbps is good for me. in my country 6 years before we were connecting to internet with 56k. i can handle it :P
    and think about range i will make gas powered UAV after that project so i need more range i dont care about baud rate.

    Thanks everyone :)
  • I believe these may be two low of a baud rate to wrok with APM. •9.6kbps Max data rate
    2 x XBee Pro 900 XSC RPSMA (up to 15 mile range!!) $143.9

  • I believe these may be too low of a baud rate to work with APM? Can someone verify?
    2 x XBee Pro 900 XSC RPSMA
  • Talk to Papa Jeff on RCU about the Reaper as he got one of the first and has done the Predator build also. Both are not beginners aircraft by his knowledge. I constructed a data table about models used for FPV and Autopilots so people would know whether or not it was theoretically possible.
    Download is listed in the UAV conertable model aircraft

    Wing loading allows ease of flight and the 98" reaper is already pushing it without the extra gear. Perhaps an easystar as a trainer while you build your UAV to help you practice would be a good idea.
