Seeing where messages are being sent/received in Mission Planner

Hi,

I'm new to the APM code world and I'm currently trying to see where messages are being sent/received in Mission Planner. I see the MESSAGES tab on the right and the STATUS log but in neither can I see which messages are being sent and received to/by my GCS. The reason this is important is that I added a new message on the APM code and I want to see if it has been sent or received, and I can't tell if I'm messing up or if I'm using Mission Planner incorrectly.

    goto MP options and turn on mavlink debug down the bottom.

    then goto the help screen and turn on the console.

    then restart MP.
