About Me:

I'm just getting in to RC flying and I love it. Astronomy is another big interest but I'm selling my big telescope to get some funds for RC. I really enjoy skiing. I lived in Colombia for 3 years and if it wasn't for my wife and I's love for skiing, we would move to Colombia. I live in a national park and the wardens have their eye on me as flying anything motorized is illegal. Maybe I could use this technology to fly my plane to a safe place for me to retrieve it if the wardens bother me.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I haven't started anything yet but I'm really excited about the technology. I really like fixed wing. The plan is to learn to fly RC with broad flying ability (Areobatics to Soaring). Then I will design and build some of my own stuff and hope move on to utilising the technology here. I'm not sure where it will go but I'm really interested in the prospect of working on crashproof rc planes for beginners. There are a lot of directions to get though. It would be interesting to see what can be done in a mountain environment too. It would be really cool to have a plane follow me while I downhill ski. It might be cool to help with search and rescue or avalanche survey or even forecasting.

"We see things much different than people in law enforcement. We think about what is right and wrong and they think about what is legal and illegal. This is a bit of an overgeneralization but to get convictions, they have to work within very specific…"

Chris Foote commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Yosemite National Park has a drone problem
"Those are some really weak arguments against drones. I live in a national park and hav had some issues with one warden.  He argues that my rc planes are real planes under the law and real planes were banned about 10 years ago from taking off or…"

Chris Foote commented on Chris Anderson's blog post APM-based 'Burrito Bomber"
"I saw a documentary that showed regualar rc plance delivering drugs from mexico to the u.s.  There was a pilot in mexico and one in the u.s.  the drugs were dropped in a different place than where the plane landed.  I would be surprised if drones…"
