Mike Tassey commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post Clarification of the Applicability of Aircraft Registration Requirements for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
"We can all imagine the day when we have flying cars as well...  doesn't mean we regulate cars now to have transponders and pilot training in anticipation of flying cars in the future.  Although, I might be an advocate for that if I was designing the…"

"BFF = Best Friends Forever (welcome to the Internet)

You represent the FAA position and attack anyone who doesn't think or agree with the way you think which is seems to be (correct me if I'm wrong) that we should all just wait for the benevolent…"

"Internet spelling police for the win! Nothing says "I'm an adult with something to contribute" like critiquing spelling on an Internet forum.

Did you run out of ideas? Or is it that like your friend there you stand to gain from increased…"

"@Tony, you are absolutely right. Anyone who didn't agree with you should be called names.

You and Philip are cut from the same cloth.

You won't find a more responsible operator than me... To include your BFF there."

"@Philip, I was thinking about going as the FAA... how'd you guess?  The secret is to spend three years thinking about what costume I should wear, then a week beforehand just decide to forego the costume altogether and just require everyone to…"

Mike Tassey commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post Clarification of the Applicability of Aircraft Registration Requirements for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
"There is and has been a lot of talk about IF and HOW.  Here is what I see as the big picture:  Congress has kicked the FAA in the rear and said "You will integrate UAS into the NAS like NOW".  Truly integrating UAS into the NAS is hard to do and the…"

Mike Tassey commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx Announces Unmanned Aircraft Registration Requirement
"Again, this is not about safety.  If it were, we would be talking about enforcement of airspace restrictions and flight parameters in firmware from the OEMs.  Not requiring 6-year olds to register with the Feds to fly their Toys R' US drone in their…"

Mike Tassey commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx Announces Unmanned Aircraft Registration Requirement
"They aren't doing this because of somebody's balsa giant scale P-51 at the local AMA field. They are specifically doing this because of "drones", and by that they mean autonomously flown or FPV flown aircraft designed for photography or first person…"

Mike Tassey commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx Announces Unmanned Aircraft Registration Requirement
"That was an interesting constituency of "stakeholders" to say the least.  Anybody know if they will be requiring all Canadian Geese to register as well?
You know, because as far as I can figure they have caused more incidents and aircraft…"

Mike Tassey replied to Mike Tassey's discussion Y6 having incredibly bad yaw issues
"Nick,

The only thing I did was to re-flash the code.  Funny thing was that I had no errors on initial flash and everything seemed to be working fine except for the flight issues.  Once I started over and re-flashed, the problem went away.

I can…"

Mike Tassey replied to Mike Tassey's discussion Y6 Extreme Yaw Issues in Arducopter Y6 Owners
"UPDATE:

So this is interesting.  Opened MP today and there was an update...  so I applied it and reflashed the copter.  Low and behold I just went a flew a stable Y6 for the first time.

The flight had all kinds of issues due to an idiot operator…"

Converted my Hexa-b into a Y6 with no luck so far.  The frame is set up properly, the motors are all turning the right way and the sensors are all calibrated correctly along with the radio. As soon as I lift off there the frame goes into an…

Mike Tassey replied to Mike Tassey's discussion Y6 Extreme Yaw Issues in Arducopter Y6 Owners
"UPDATE:

I have swapped the rear props so that they are symmetrical (all the tops rotate CW and all bottoms rotate CCW) and it made no difference what so ever.  Instant uncontrollable yaw to the right which cannot be countered no matter how much…"
