Tom Gyllenhammar commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Tandem Heli flies autonomously with Pixhawk
"Cool but why use a tandem instead of a regular single?"

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to Randy's discussion Copter reliability vs functionality
"That's an excellent comment. The work you and the other developers have done is amazing and unbelievable. I solve things using passive safety such as low weight and parachute. One thing that would be great is if some one with knowledge added support…"

Tom Gyllenhammar commented on Greg Dronsky's blog post DJI Inspire 1 Catches Fire On Passanger Plane
"I think li-xx outside cellphones and laptops should be prohibited onboard. Batteries should be shipped ahead using well informed cargo companies that can take sufficent safety measures."

Tom Gyllenhammar commented on JB's blog post UAV Challenge Medical Express rules have been released.
"That's one large bloodsample! Maybe delivery of emergency drugs would be a more possible future scenario. Like sending oral corticosteroids to a stranded hiker with risk of anafylactic chock."

Tom Gyllenhammar commented on Chris Anderson's blog post How much damage would a small drone do to a jet engine?
"Eventaullay a drone will take down a full scale air craft. Then it will be regulated and under license over certain weights. My guess is above 750gram."

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to Randy's discussion ArduCopter-3.2.1 Beta Testing
"That sound great, one thing to consider is that on a traditional heli accidental switches of the throttle hold doesn't matter because it takes a while to loose control even if you are not used to autos. I suggest combining the two so that you flip…"

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to Randy's discussion ArduCopter-3.2.1 Beta Testing
"Haven't flown the NAZA. As long as there's a routine for avoiding disarming in the air when going through aggressive joystick movements I'm fine:-)"

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to Randy's discussion ArduCopter-3.2.1 Beta Testing
"I disagree on this. O shit situations would better be handled as in 3D CP helis, with a throttle hold switch. I guess the ones to have use for this is FPV racers who could rest a finger on the switch like you do when you fly 3D."

Tom Gyllenhammar commented on F. C. Bearsch's blog post Telemetry at 500,000,000 km... Rosetta Success!

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to weiqiang's discussion How can I using copter measure wind direction and wind velocity? in ArduCopter User Group
"That seem pretty straight forward. Any chance you are a arducopter developer and could add such loiter mode as a beta function in the next release?"

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to weiqiang's discussion How can I using copter measure wind direction and wind velocity? in ArduCopter User Group
"Julien,
Please explain how you think when you say it would be simple to program a mission that makes the craft face the wind in loiter."

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to Omid's discussion Motor signal output on AC 3.2 using PX4FMU only.
"I would also like an answer to this. Can someone with knowledge shim in?"
Aug 23, 2014
Tom Gyllenhammar replied to gsenroc's discussion Autorotation thoughts
"Go for Phoenix, its very simple and realistic if you pick the large models. I have quite a lot of experience flying 3D so if I can be at any help with this let me know."

Tom Gyllenhammar commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Oculus Rift head-tracked video on a drone
"Maybe it's possible to sync it on the wehicle with a dedicated board that takes all videostreams and makes it to one before pushing it to the video tx"

Tom Gyllenhammar commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Oculus Rift head-tracked video on a drone
"Randys idea with the sphere sound interesting. What about having 4 cameras collecting all possible directions and then looking around at a stitched image sphere with no lag?"

Tom Gyllenhammar replied to Cory Hill's discussion Pixhawk + Taranis / X8R Fail Safe Configuration
"A bit OT, but do you know if failsafe is configured and tested from the factory on the RTF y6 with taranis?"
