ArduPilot with ARM? IMU in one chip: MPU-9150

It was an issues of time to build a 9-axis sensor in one chip, and Invense did it again.

I read somewhere that people are working to build an Ardupilot with ARM CPU, so i'm thinking in image or video processing in a platform similar to Raspberry-PI, but this consumes 2.5W in Model A.

Getting hold of raspberrypi is a challenge, even very well connected folks from Cambridge (UK) community couldnt get hold of one..afaik

well, 2.5W on a quad is a very small consuption (you take about 150W to hover)

Where does it say it has an ARM in the invensense chip? I can see it has a "DMP" which sounds like a microcontroller of some kind running the fusion algorithm, but afaict you'd still need a second microcontroller to run the autopilot code.

Bases on the amount of time between when Invensense announced the 6000 series chips and when they were actually available, I wouldn't hold my breath...

Interesting, I have a new BeagleBone ($89) sitting on my desk and just waiting to try integrating the APM oilpan to it. 700Mhz is nice, but since you need a heavier OS... not so nice. Waiting for the Arduino Due....

The Pi is really nice for the price, but you're likely stuck with I2C--not many GPIOs or SPIs. And I2C may not be the best direction (i.e. the old Mikrokopter 'bus crashes' anyone?)
