Hi people
I've launched a campaign on Indiegogo to build UAS kits and supply them to Nature Reserves in and around Southern Africa to fight the war against poachers.
Please spread the word, we need some serious help to stop these thugs

@ Petrus
the link is www.digitalvelocity.co.za/echo/concept.htm link is not working for me too. Browser gets redirected to https://jupiter.webnow.co.za:8443/ which also does not work.
BTW cool graphic illustrations.
Tis image will provide you with the idea.
Still getting an error. I will try from home, maybe work is blocking it for some reason.
sorry marcel, the link is www.digitalvelocity.co.za/echo/concept.htm
HI Petrus
I know this is not a new concept, but I find that most of the organisations doing this are not local.
By producing them locally we can drastically reduce the cost, as well get them out quicker. The other problem we can solve is having support close by. The reserve personal will operate the drones. But because we are local, support and servicing is much easier.
The link to your system does not work?

Marcell, I have been busy with the same concept for about a year and a half. What you are proposing is not new. The problems we are facing regarding the use of drones for anti poaching purposes are mainly in the manner the drone is used. There are a few questions you have to ask yourself when it gets to using drones for this purpose and exactly what you wish to accomplish. I have had the same talk to Justin Porteus from www.rhinodrone.co.za who are also attempting to acquire funds for his project via crowd sourcing.
1. Do you wish to make a profit from this concept?
2. How do you propose to use the drone as an anti-poaching tool, Do you want to fly patrol patterns or does the drone react to a poaching event, thus forming part of a larger anti poaching system?
2. Who will operate, maintain and service these drones. Yourself (you and a team, or you alone) or the parks personnel.
You are welcome to see our system, www.digitalvelocity.co.za/echo/concept.htm we are in final stages of development and ready for POC. We will have a demonstration to (not named) private wildlife reserve within the next month. We have already spoken to the KNP and realised that there is a lot of "Red Tape" and a number of hoops to jump. Maybe we can start helping each other
@ wayne garris. How can we get a techpod airframe for testing it's capabilities as an anti-poaching drone and at what price?
No there is not, but there has been communication from the SACAA about these activities. They are not happy.

wonder to what extent there is communication / collaboration between the various parties involved in this anti-poaching work? Perhaps a little naive but presumably it is a commercial 'space' .?
- Joe and Gisella Noci - nampilot - Wide Horizons
- Conservation Drones
- Shadowview
- Falcon UAV
- WWF
- Protrack
and also The Thin Green Line - but not using UAVs to my knowledge.
Presumably there are others.
