What an awesome UAV resource, you guys have done some really fantastic stuff.I am planning to build a Heli UAV and for now doing my research. Obviously the most complex thing is the autopilot. I am planning to use Windows Mobile-based smartphone as the brains of the UAV for all the functions. What can you suggest in terms of implementing the autopilot code? Is there code that exists for helis or can one be adopted from a plane autopilot? Thanks

Is RTOS absolutely necessary? My intention is to use a gyro or a few accelerometers to get orientation data when coupled with GPS. I think some averaging of adjecent measurements would be necessary to prevent oversteering, so I think WM code would be fast enough to respond. My entire concept could be unrealistic, but can you explain to me how so?
