0 low cost radio systems Posted by Phil Wilshire on June 25, 2008 at 5:53am I dug out an old VEX radio system I got a couple of years ago from RadioShack. This is a 6 channel FM transmitter with a small receiver. The receiver provides a direct PWM output. But it gets even better. You can still buy the TX/RX combination fromhttp://www.allelectronics.com/ for about $30.00.See this link or search the store website for vexhttp://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/JS-6/6-CHANNEL-TRANSMITTER-AND-RECEIVER/-/1.htmlregardsPhil Wilshire You need to be a member of diydrones to add comments! The Tx has a tether port that allows you to turn off the RF and connect directly to whatever you use as a decoder.
I was only considering this as a lab or low cost test system and totally agree with Chris that a flying thing may need more upmarket equipment.
I did try the TX on one of my aircraft and it seemed to work with my receiver.
I used the Vex rx crystal.
But for the price it looks really good.
