Interfacing a 5V sensor with a 3.3V microcontroller

So I am looking to use a MPX4100A to measure altitude. This part is a 5V part and I am using an ARM processor which runs at 3.3V and the max Vref for the AD converter is also 3.3V. What is the best way to interface these two parts? Use a voltage divider? Thanks.

  • I interface a 5v GPS with a current limiting resistor to my parallax propeller. 1k-20k is what I have seen recommended. I use a 1k and it seems to do the trick quite nicely.

  • Looks like you'll need a voltage divider, as full scale output seems to be close to 5V. You already have a 5V supply for your system ?
