About channel.

I read about some ArduPilot, lets see:Attach the ArduPilot inputs to your RC receiver with female-to-female cables (alternatively, you can cut those cables in half and solder them in the ArduPilot holes, making permanent "pigtails"). Input 1 should go to your receiver's Channel 1 (aileron), Input 2 should go to Channel 2 (elevator) and Input 3 should go to Channel 3 (throttle). CTRL should go to the channel you'll use to enable the autopilot, usually 5 or 6. If you have a three-position toggle on your transmitter, use that channel. So, I have channel 1 for aileron, 2 for elevator ando 3 for throttle. So, if I want more channel, its possible? For example, if I want my UAV have a flap's or retract landing gear?If it's possible, how can I do it?Thanks!

  • Of course you can do it, but i don't think you want to let ArduPilot control flaps or retracts (just used for landing and take off, which is done with RC control and ArduPilot in Manual mode). So just plug those additional functions into spare channel connectors in your Rx as in a normal RC plane and you're done. The three channels you mentioned (+ the CTRL switch channel) are going from Rx through ArduPilot because AP controls them in autopilot and RTL modes. Other functions are operated traditionally through the Rx. I don't know if this helps you out?
