Acrylic Frame V.05 ish

So I thought i would give it a go. this is what i have be able to complete in the last few hours. it is not completely visible from this picture but there is a 1/8 inch bottom to the square for mounting the gear. i have used Weld-on solvent cement to glue the pieces together. i have discovered that it is remarkably strong. I glued up a test 'T' and I cant break it.

the tubing is 3/4 by 1/16 and in short lengths is quite strong and lite. i am in the process of making up a jig to drill the motor mounts. they are 1/8th thick by 1.5 square. can someone tell me the type of screw the stock motors use so i can get some longer ones?

Cheers all and happy flying.

Brian.

  • I am almost ready to fly. Attached is a pic of the new frame in it's "almost complete" state.

I hope to get it in the air this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.
