Hi can anyone tell me exactly what are the advantages of a single motor variable pitch quad rotor compared to a normal quad rotor? I cant seem to find the answer online.

if it can go to negative pitch on the blades it can fly upside down, on a fixed pitch the motors would need to be reveresed, variable pitch will change thrust direction much faster. Rolls will probably be more axial (more centred) too if doing acro stuff.
I have also seen people suggest that they can do vertiacl proximity flying...i.e. down the side of a cliff or building with neutral pitch only controlling attitude, a normal fixed pitch multi motor will always generate lift when the motors are spinning so won't do this the same way.

Might be a benefit to some.
