Hi community.
I have a hexa with a gimbal system running off of the 2.5apm. Got the gimbal from hobby kings. Its pretty good. Have some nifty and fairly quick servos running the gimbal too. Its not perfect though. Can anyone give me some advice or suggestions? Basically it faults on large corrections and directional changes. I wish it was a bit more steady. I have tunned the system as best as i can. I have another 2.0 APM that I was considering running to control the gimbal system and leaving the 2.5 to run the hexa. Might not make a difference though.
Any help would be great, neil

The brushless gimbals are taking over for good reason.
I had been playing with servo gimbals for some time with the same results you are observing, even when changing the outputs from the 50Hz outputs to the 490Hz outputs, little difference.
The biggest change was the introduction of the silicone ball type suspension mounts, really smoothed things out, but the old servo gimbal will always have a bit of dead band and slop, no matter how small, and this can have visible side effects.
The Martinez open source controller board for the brushless is cheap and easy to setup.
