Hi all,

Just wanted to share the latest short clip I put together from a short trip to Bali over the weekend last May.

I flew Phantom II with a GoPro 3+ .

Story about this drone: This was my first footage ever taken almost a year ago with my first drone.

All footage is taken without FPV goggles or a screen. I was pretty much flying by sight as I did not buy the video receiver or the screen at that time.  the opening  shot of the video almost cost me a drone as I could NOT see the drone any more as it was into the sun and too far.  I did manage to get it back that flight though :-)

Since then, I bought the video receiver and a screen and FPV goggles and I am on my second drone as the first one actually did not survive this Bali trip. I lost this drone on the last day of that weekend due to the same problem. Could not see the drone in the ocean against the sun.

It is almost hilarious if it was not a sad story. I could not see it and then I thought I saw it. High in the sky way to the right of me. I tried to bring the drone down, but it did not respond to my controller. I tried again and again. No response. The white dot just hovered in the sky.

I bit later, a guy runs to me and taps me on a shoulder. He said: Your drone is in the ocean!

I say: no! there it is in the sky. He says: No. it's not it. Yours was to the left and it slowly descended into the ocean and sunk!

I said: What?

Apparently, the drone WAS responding to my input on the remote control, it's just I was looking at the wrong object in the sky. It was a white KITE that somebody was flying down the beach :-(

And my brand new drone, just went down because I asked it to do so.

So this Bali footage is ALL that remains from that drone and that GoPro 3+ .

RIP the Phantom II.
