So far, I have only used kites but I have just ordered a cheap, small MX400 quad to get me started, which will help me decide if to go for something more adventurous.
Fellow Trust member Jim Knowles is currently preparing his quad which is pictured here:

Jim has been interested in building an archaeologically useful one for some time but I have only recently become interested.
We will be using only compact cameras on quads.
On kites the largest camera we have used is a 1.5kg thermal imager:
