On my drone kit the motor and the ESC both have three black wires. How do you hook them up? I don't like the trial and error method.

Trial and error is the norm in this case.
It doesn't matter how you connect them except for the direction the motor will turn.
If it's not turning the direction you want, switch any two of the three wires and it will turn in the opposite direction.
You can't blow anything here by just going for it.
Now, the wires from ESC to battery are a different story.

I wanted to hear that before I start soldering things together. I will use alligator clip leads to try them out before soldering LOL. I had a hunch that was the case. Thanks again.
