3D Robotics Quad

APM 2.5

All motors respond to manual calibration and respond to throttle when individual ESCs are connected to lipo and throttle channel.

When I use auto calibration all motors respond to throttle except #1 which just continues to beep every three seconds.

When I set up the motors in CLI via 'setup] motors', the motors will each alternate and spin in succession for a second except for motor #1 which doesn't spin when it comes to it's 'turn'. The others still continue to alternate though and #1 just continues to beep.

At this point I'm assuming I soldered something wrong, but after checking everything I'm at a loss. I was ecstatic to see three working, and hopefully my description is specific enough that someone smarter than I will know the answer.

Thanks in advance.

  • Purchased a new PCB and problem is fixed.

  • Swap the four pin connector around at the APM output side and run the motor test again.  If it's still motor one that doesn't move then it's your PDB but if it's then motor 4 that doesn't move it's a bad output on the APM.

Pull your power distribution board (PDB) and check with an ohm meter. Just set the ohm meter to beep and check all jacks and pins. When all is good, plug it back up. Make sure your ESC controller cables are plugged in right. Mine had the black cable closest to power plug. Double check your receiver cables and your output cables from APM to the PDB. Then recalibrate all your ESCs.
    Good Luck,
