Aluminum X Motor Mount for the 2836 Arducopter Motor

So, after a few crashes, i've managed to bend or destroy the a number of motor mounts. I checked with store.diydrones.com sales folks and also searched the jdrones store. Can anyone point me to a place where I can order some replacement motormounts. As a side note, I'm actually hoping some of you who have official Arducopters that don't need your X mounts would be willing to part ways with them.

All spare parts will be available on stores soon. Motor mounts can already be found from ArduCopter Crash Set along with other useful parts.

X mounts that comes along with motors are meant for general use and they are always included with screw/prop. adapter bags. And you should always use all 4 screws to mount them properly, mounting them on arm with 2 screws is not the best and strongest way as you have noticed.

  • Hi Alex:

I went through the same deal with the aluminum mounts that come with the motors. It's much better to ditch these now and move onto something a little sturdier.  You can see on the wiki for arducopter how they made their mounts.  The mounting hole distances are standard (perhaps 16mm x 19mm - you can check this). Also, you can buy longer mounting screws at Home Depot or Lowes (they are metric).

I used .375 inch thick plexiglass to make some simple mounts (just a top plate with two through holes into the aluminum arm).  They are virtually indestructible (in other words, something else on my quad will be destroyed before they will!) and have survived numerous crashes.
