APM 2.0 & SPEKTRUM DX7 SETUP HELP

Sorry to bother again :P

This is my project for school and I really need help with the wiring. I need a wiring diagram for a moron like this example here: https://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/TradHeli_ConnectingAPM

but for SPEKTRUM not FUTABA and not APM 2.5 but APM 2.0. Because I've tried various combinations, but without success.

I can not connect properly with APM receiver to make it work normally. I do not know where to tuck the specific cable to work properly for example swashplate and motor.

Outputs should be fine. Radio is set to Acro mode, Any suggestions ?

    !!!  First of all your assignment of the inputs on the APM2 in your picture are wrong.

    AMP Ch1 starts from the bottom not from the top, so ch1 is your AUX4 and ch8 is your Aile/Roll.

    So we start with the easy part.

    Connect the Rx outputs with the APM inputs in the following way:

    Rx ch2 to APM ch1            Aileron

    Rx ch3 to APM ch2            Elevator

    Rx ch4 to APM ch4            Rudder

    Rx ch5 to APM ch5            Flight Mode

    Rx ch7 to APM ch7            safe Trimm

    Now we connect the collective pitch, makes the swash go up and down.

    Rx ch1 to APM ch3            collective pitch

    I use Rx ch 1 which is assigned as Throttle in the RC for the collective for the following reason.

    Only the Throttle channel can be programmed for fail safe to go below 970, all other channels will keep the last input by the RC, and the APM will recognise an fail safe if the APM ch3 goes below 970ms.

    So you have to program your  pitch curve to the throttle curve for all 3 flight modes the same.

    My pitch curve programmed to the throttle curve looks like this:

    Point L=0%

    Point1=38%

    Point2=52%

    Point3=59%

    PointH=87%

    Now we connect the speed controller ESC to the RC or APM. This will get your motor running.

    You can choose between 2 options, the first option connect the ESC direct to the Rx ch6 signed as pitch, or the second option, what I would do, connect the Rx ch6 to the APM ch8.

    Rx ch6 to APM ch8            ESC

    In this case you have to go to the advanced parameter list in the MP and set

    H_RSC_MODE, 2 ( this param. Enables the use of ch8 for the ESC)

    H_GOV_SETPOINT,1590  (with this param. You set your Motor RPM)

    You have also to program your pitch curve which is your  throttle curve in the DX7.

    Just set all points to 100% for all 3 flight modes.

    If you use the direct way to connect the ESC to the Rx, then set the  H_RSC_MODE to 0.

    And also program your pitch curve which is your  throttle curve in the DX7.

    Just set all points to about 60% for all 3 flight modes. This sets your motor speed.

    The outputs are right in your picture, so connect it this way.

    The only thing to add is, if you use the ch8 option for the ESC, then you have to connect the APM ch8 output to the ESC input.

    And one thing to add, the collective will only work if you have armed the APM.

    You do that by pushing the yaw stick to the far right for a few sec. until armed.

    But before you can do all of that that go to the TradHeli_Configuration page.

    And to get your 6 flight modes out of Rx ch 5 go to this site to give you an idea how to set up your DX7 for 6 APM flight modes.

    I think now you have something to work on.

    If something is unclear, just post it.

    Good luck

  • Futaba receivers have to pin 6 -> Collective Pitch. How to solve the Spektrum receivers? that is the question ...

    Another "simple" question is how can I from this table Futaba, Spektrum table do for 7-channel radio ??? :(((

  • I'm not sure you want to use your transmitters ACRO mode with a helicopter. I fly only multirotors and fixed wing, so I am not sure on this one.
