I am experiencing loiter issues with apm 2.5.
I got external compass installed and alt hold seems to work fine (stays in one altitude for a while then drops or rises and stays). Compass calibration was done outside.
Problem:
When I engage loiter, copter seems to drift in one direction or the other (even crashed once).
Compassmot was tested using propellers upside down and I got 3% inteference.
Also when drifting copter seemed to pulse motor throttle.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this loiter problem?

Problem was fixed. The compass module was not facing right direction.

When I ran into this issue I had to recalibrate the accelerometers.
