apm 2.5

hi, i am a newbie here in apm 2.5 i just got my apm 2.5 and rfd900 at jdrones.... but after i setup everything i perfectly connected the rfd900 and got the ublox gps fix in my mission planner. but when times i power on my apm 2.5 the motor start running so i reset the apm then the motor stops but my aileron, elevator and motor control channel did not work... but my rudder works perfectly including my switch to different flight modes.... is there anybody out there that can help out this problems? hope to hear from you guys thanks and have a nice day ahead.... rans

    I know I have had the problem where my motor will start on its own and not stop. This is due to me powering the plane before turning on my transmitter. It goes to a failsafe mode, once that happens I can't turn the motor off. I always disconnect the power from my plane, not push the reset button. Not sure if that will help any or not. The sequence should be transmitter on plane on, plane off transmitter off. With the Aurora make sure to tell it you want to "start transmitting" before you turn on the plane.

    Welcome Andy, what kind of platform are you trying to fly? I assume its an aircraft.

    Before adding the APM does everything work properly with just the normal RC transmitter and receiver that you have. By that I mean is the throttle channel connected in the correct way, down is off. Once you know you have the basic setup right you can introduce the APM into the mix and you will know that any change of surface direction or a surface not working must be in the APM setup.
