APM 2 refuses to ARM

I've just installed a new and unused APM2 (not 2.5) into a steadiDrone Qu4d build, using a hobbywing quattro esc.

i'm using a jeti radio and RSat2 PPM receiver.

Set-up and configuration seemed very smooth with mission planner and i could configure everything including the radio inputs and initially arm and spool-up the motors.

However after one very quick motor test i found that i could no longer get the motors to arm.

I've tried reloading firmware, auto and manual esc config, radio config, radio end point adjustment, using a normal non-ppm receiver, using a completely different radio and receiver.

Nothing.

The board seems to be working in mission planner and the LEDs seem to be doing what they should be doing.

I've tried using the quattro esc with another flight controller - and it's working fine.

I've tried using different esc's with the APM2 and it still refuses to arm.

Is there a way to completely RESET and reload firmware - erasing everything on the APM2?

I'd really like to get this working, rather than give up and just stick a naza into the build…

  • Are you saying that the MP flight data screen does not show 'Armed'?

(Of course you would have to be connected by USB or have telemetry radios to see this on MP)

When switching to armed, my APM2.0 red & blue LEDs change state. This is my external clue it is armed.

It may also be that you need to have throttle below the minimum to trigger the arm condition. Have you tried a few clicks down with throttle trim?
