Apm cables: how long is too long?

I am currently flying the Ranger EX. I would like to get the telemetry and GPS out onto the wings. I don't know if longer cables are commercially available or not. If they are, where can they be purchased? How long can these cables be before there might be adverse effects? I would like to hear what others have done to accomplish the same goal.

  • You can splice in your own extensions easily. There are no reported issues extended inc the GPS or telemety cables, I have done both successfully. However there have been some reports of issues on the I2C bus due to long leads. This could be the compass built into your GPS, or a digital airspeed sensor. Watch for problems and try a ferrite if you suspect interference.
