APM controlling DJI f450

Just as the title say, I am going to connect an APM to a DJI f450 kit. I know that the APM can distrubute the power to the ESC's that are connected to it.

I just want to make sure that if I connected the ESC's to the APM, I wont need to solder the ESC's to the base board, because they would receive their power from the APM.

and I would need a Lipo battery right, so I am getting a 4S Lipo, so I wanted to check if the battery could be connected to the APM
