APM for camera stabilization

Hello,

I have a APM 1 board 2560 that I used for stabilization of the gimbal until now. It works ok, but only with 1/1 gear factor. If I change the gimbal with other gear factor, for ex; 1/2, the APM undercompesate.

My question is; how can I change the servo travel acording to match of the camera gimbal gear factor?. And with what version of the software can I do that?, and if it is possible.

Thank you very much

  • As far as I know ArduCopter doesn't work with gimbals that rotate 360 degrees or otherwise have different gear ratios. The potentiometer for the servo would need to be on the axis after the gears rather than on the servo itself. That way it doesn't matter to the APM what position the servo is in or the gear ratio. If you don't want to go that route you might have to get a dedicated gimbal controller meant for more advanced setups (or modify the ArduCopter source code). If this isn't the case and ArduCopter supports more advanced gimbals please correct me!
