APM planner or Mission Planner - I've been away!!

Hello people, I've been away from Ardupilot for some time having had some bad experiences previously (probably my fault), but i'm back to give it another go.

I've noticed talk of APM Planner now which seems to be a multi-platform planner virtually identical looking to Mission Planner.

Can anybody tell me if i should now be using this new APM planner, or are they both being maintained and supported in parallel?

Any real differences that I should worry myself about?

Any info appreciated. Thanks.

    APM planner hasn't yet had an official release. I believe we're on Rc3 right now (release candidate 3) so if you step out using APM Planner, you want to realize that you are using "Beta" software.

    Mission Planner remains the most feature complete GCS option, but APM Planner is more capable by the day, with daily releases resolving issues.
