    really I'm just saying a "me too" to this problem... or a very similar one.     Pretty much all version of APM planner since .net 4 got involved have been so unusable for me that it won't even load the *menu*/s  .... so I can't "manually switch back to GDI+."

    Task Manager shows ArdupilotMegaPlanner.exe taking 99% CPU, and approx 110Meg of ram. ( 110,156)

    Is there a way I can try disabling OpenGL from the command-line?

  • I just updated to .45 and also Planner .76. I erased everything and
    re-configured the quad. I also set the PLANNER tab to Feet and MPH.

    Now the GPS with 11 sats and 3D lock is displaying 20 in the Altitude bar.
    For my location it should display 5100 ~ as it did in the earlier version. Any
    suggestions?

    This occured in an earlier release and it was determined to be a bug.  It may have re-surfaced again.

    Thanks,

    Here you go:

     1) try changing to 16 bit color on your display

     2) restart MP and see if it is faster, if not

     3) MP->Configuration->Planner, set for GDI+

     4) restart MP, enjoy!

  • Ive updated my Graphics drivers to the last Intel release but still cant get any of the 7x releases to run properly on my Dell netbook. Will try updating .Net but it seems a shame we seem tobe going into this 900fps gaming territory for something that really doesnt need it.
  • Alas, the problem remains..... :((((((((((

  • I have the exact same issue on my laptop; the new version never really fully loads, and the old versions worked fine with no trouble.  However, my LT is a 5-year-old Toshiba with XP.  The new Planner 1.0.76 works fine on my much newer HP desktop with Win 7.  So, Gareth, I do not believe reinstalling anything could be a recommended fix.  I did notice references to .NET 4.0 in the config file, so I tried updating that (from 3.5) to no avail.
