APM V1.4 revision/missing SMD component?

I just received my APM V1.4, and noticed an unpopulated set of SMD pads in the PG5 trace (circled in yellow below).  The images of the V1.4 board in the store do not show these pads.

 

Is this a revision?  Should these pads be populated?3690862450?profile=original

    I did a continuity check with the voltmeter and my grounds are connected but the 5v's are not. Could this be because of the missing component? My board looks exactly like the one in the picture above. Can someone please post a link to the schematic for v1.4?

    Sam,

    Thanks for the clarification.  Is it ok to add R8 to the board if I wanted to monitor the status of the MUX?

    Martin,

    I guess I'm not alone!  I believe the missing component is a 1k resistor, labeled R8 on the V1.41 schematic.  The trace in question is the multiplexer selection line, so I'm pretty confident the resistor is required for proper operation.
