APM2 bricked ?

hello

is it possible that my APM2 board has bricked ?

i have a Octo Copter with standard components:

APM2 flown well and kept updating up to 2.7.1 : all well working

after updating to 2.7.3 under MP 1.2.11 can't connect anymore.

each time i repeat the update MP keeps warning that Eprom has changed before upload.

Upload goe's well, but after that i can't connect : Timeout after loading some values very slowly.

Erased the Eprom within CLI, did reset.

Samer result as described below.

Tryed a brand new APM2 out of the box : works well, so it is not the S/W ord the PC.

thanks in advance

  • I had one do the same thing. It would take some versions of firmware and be able to connect, But then there was something wrong in other parts of the apm such as init gyro or rc inputs. I'm thinking its a bad spot in the memory. I sent it back to Udrones 2 weeks ago and still have no clue when I'll get a working board back.

  • When uploading the firmware did it spit anything back when verifying? If I recall there's a verification that runs during the firmware flashing process from the Mission Planner. If something went wrong during the flashing it should be possible to just flash again. If that fails and it is indeed "bricked" there are pins on the APM to directly flash the Atmega processor including the bootloader.
