Hi Guys a small update, :-) I went out this morning for about 3hrs and left the board connected to my laptop. On my arrival home I had GPS lock on the GPS board and red light flashing as It had been last night BUT NO blue light on the main Board flashing!!! I tried to connect to the MP and it would NOT connect??? strange so I disconnected from the board (only using usb to power) logged of laptop and re-logged in connected usb to board and HEY HO the red and blue light were flashing along with the blue light on the GPS board.
I now have a read out in the MP of how many GPS's I have :-) is there any reason for this??? and should new customers be aware of the fact that they should leave it connected for about 3hrs for the GPS to get all the info it needs to get 1st time you boot the board???
again thanks for the comments and look forward to getting this into the air ASAP and get some video's
When you say you get "NO out put in the Mission Planner", what do you mean? Do you mean that you:
1) connected and saw it download the parameters?
2) the HUD is not showing, or shows no movement?
3) the "status" tab does not show sensor data changing?
Graham, as you stated, blue light on the GPS indicated a fix, the red light should blink continuously unless you have armed the motors. the blue light next to the red light may be solid or flash depending on activity of the board.
You should be able to get data in the MissionPlanner immediately upon connecting assuming you have chosen the correct COM port and the correct baud rate 115200 I would check those first.
You get sensor data after connecting even if GPS doesn't have a fix yet.
Good luck.
