I'm in the process of building my own ArduCopter Quad and I'm having some issues.  I'm using the latest APM and Oilpan along with 4 HK-SS30A (Hobbyking SuperSimple 30A) ESC's.  I'm also running the Arducopter RC2 code.  When I plug in the Li-Po battery, all 4 ESC's beep once and then all 4 motors begin turning at around 5-10% throttle.  I've attempted to calibrate the ESCs and that made no difference.

Can anyone tell me why the motors immediately start turning after power is applied and how to fix this?  I don't want the props to start turning until I command them to.

Thanks!

Hmm sounds weird, even on stable modes throttle should be linear. Tho have not checked latest ArduPirates code but still. How can you land if your throttle is not linear? So it has to be something else.

Are you maybe using some sonar code or similar on your settings?

Use the ArduPirates code. It's more recent and has a better setup process.
