I have 3DR quadcopter which 850KV motor, it was working fine, recently today when I connected the battery one of the motor started smoking and heat up bad, not sure what the issue is, can anyone help please?
Note : I dont have BEC and I have the battery connected to motor and arducopter is powered using the JP1 jumper

What do you mean you dont have a BEC ? Are you connecting the motor straight to the battery, if so thats completely wrong. Do the other motors work with the same battery, but without the 'smoked motor" ?
Sounds like a short circuit in the motor, which caused it to burn out. Can happen sometimes.
Safest option is to buy a replacement motor. You'll probably want to double-check that the associated ESC didn't burn out in the process.
