mP1 commented on drnes's blog post Comparing Phantom 3 vs. Solo Drone
"@Ravi:

The DJI is streaming HD LIVE, that beats the analog SD that everybody else (ignoring the other top end HD streamers) is doing.

When someone releases cheap HD cameras and tx/rx systems that will be big news. DJI is already half way there,…"

mP1 commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Full Solo launch video
"Terrible video, it prompts more questions than it answers. Techies want to see facts and details about the new machine not dancing, sunsets and paper streamers."

mP1 commented on Dave Giles's blog post OFM Hyper 330 FPV Pod Racing Quadcopter with DMT (Dynamic Motor Tilting)
"> Tilt the motors more than 30 degrees relative to the frame makes drone hard to controllable w conditional AP
How can you make such a statement if you have never flown with Ali's machine ? What do you we know about the AP, not much unfortunately."

mP1 commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Google scraps VTOL design, back to the drawing board
"It would be far easier to build those vacuum tubes in Futurama that everybody seems to get sucked and transported about."

mP1 commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Google scraps VTOL design, back to the drawing board
"Why dont they just rotate the wings and keep the tail down approach, at least that removes the sail in the wind effect."

mP1 replied to turdsurfer's discussion Why no physically separate multicopter controllers and autopilots yet?
"But what happens when they diverge and start giving slightly different values, perhaps one barometer gives a reading a few lower than the other. How does one tell ?"

"@Dani

From a purely technical perspective theres no reason to chose 915 over 433. The lower the freq the more range and penetration thru objects. Given 433 is also legal in oz, why would anyone pick 915 here ?"

mP1 replied to turdsurfer's discussion Why no physically separate multicopter controllers and autopilots yet?
"You forgot to also add there should be one uC for each rx output and lets throw in a few uC for other functions like one for each led you might want to stick around your copter."

mP1 commented on Crispin's blog post Drones are now banned from London's Royal Parks
"Crispin: Londons royal parks are basically national parks inside the city. Its not really fitting that people disturb all that wildlife with machines."

mP1 replied to turdsurfer's discussion Why no physically separate multicopter controllers and autopilots yet?
"So why not have a procesor for each one of the directions ?

Why not have a processor that decides to go up, and another to go down, one for forward, backwards, etc."

mP1 replied to turdsurfer's discussion Why no physically separate multicopter controllers and autopilots yet?
"I guess the entire system on a chip idea was stupid. Why put all the chips on one board when you can separate everything into dozens of boards and have wires going everywhere. Not only do they take up more space but they are "safer" and "give more…"

Because you say so ?

"The real problem with bad sensors is not that they die but that they give incorrect values. When there are just two sensors giving the same value how does your f/c know which is correct ?

The answer is it doesnt, its just impossible to know from…"

"Just stating someone is wrong doesnt really make them wrong. It would be better if you actually shared some info and gave an example of why it is better."
