ArduCopter Configurator on Trad Heli

Good day,

 

I'm having trouble setting the PID settings due to our ArduCopter Configurator not connecting to the APM. I've tried the settings provided in the wiki on setting/connecting.

We can see the status going to Reading Flight Data but the ellipses/dots aren't moving and proceeds to disconnecting after sometime.

 

Hoping to have responses to troubleshooting, thanks in advance!

    Is there any current alternative to setting up the PID? I can't seem to find my way into it.

    I was having the same problem, and i have the whole setup with ArduPilot Mega IMU board (OilPan). I had loaded the latest APM Software and it did exactly as you mention on your post... it will try to connect and after several Dots and waiting.. it will want to reconnect and it didnt matter at what baud rate i put it on, it will do the same. After Talking to Mr Yani, one the software developer for APM... he told me the lastest software wont support the Tradi- Heli and told me to try an older version. so i uploaded one that i found here in the download area and tried it. once i did that i was able to communicate and configur my PID setting ... Still have some issues with the trad-heli file though....so if anyone has an updated version of the file for Trad Heli..please guide me to it...

    you can't connect to the IMU shield alone, just to whole APM (red and blue board)
