Hello, people. I'm a big fat noob and in my post box at home is a brand new Arducopter kit, pre-soldered and software tested, v1.1. I also have an AXN Floater-Jet coming so I can learn basic RC flying - I say this to demonstrate the totality of my newbiness. I'm a bandwagon jumper from the ARDrone mainstream and dearly want a more powerful craft for fun and practical experimentation. The AC seems the go.
My point here is that I bought 4 arducopter arms of both lengths available in the jDrones store and am very curious to hear opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of each frame size:
Which is better for new guys? Is there vastly different code for each? Is the smaller one more aerobatic and the larger more stable? Is it really as simple as that? Any other variables worth considering?
Any unsolicited advices to one of my greenness are encouraged also.
This community is clearly a beautiful thing.
Thank you.
By the way, my profile photo is from a life-sized Cessna 210. It's kind of a fantasy of what future quad photography might be like for me......

Nick. difference between short and longer arms is stability and agility. More longer arms, more stabile your quad it. It is just like having heavier and bigger helicopter.
Smaller arms are really good if you plan to fly inside and do tricks or other Acro flying. If you plan to fly mostly outside on windy conditions, your arm choice is longer ones.
